TaxSlayer is a “quick and dirty” discount service primarily at aimed users who are knowledgeable about taxes and value speed over hand-holding.  At $9.95 with no extra fee, its price is one of the most competitive out there.  It has almost none of the features sported by its competitors, but for the right type of filer, it can make a great bargain.

Users should know that TaxSlayer only supports a very limited set of forms.  So anyone who is self-employed or must report income from rental property will have to look elsewhere.

For the user who has relatively simple finances, is a seasoned filer and want speed over all else, TaxSlayer is a good option, although t hose who qualify for free e-filing should probably go with a free solution with more features, such as TaxACT.
